  1. Daily Class Participation and performance

Students will receive daily participation points that reflect active learning engagement during each class or session.  In order to receive all the daily points, students must actively participate in all class activities and have a positive attitude with a constant will to learn.  Tardiness to class without a signed pass from the teacher will result in an automatic loss of half of the daily points.

Students with excused absences can receive their points for the day if they see me (a week after the absence) to make up the note taking/practice exercises they missed.  Listed below is a break down of the daily point system:

10 points = PRESENT and actively participated and has all needed materials

5 points = TARDY or minimal participation or missing materials

0 points = ABSENT or no participation (*excused absences can make up daily points)

  1. Performance / Final Concert

Students are required to complete a classroom performance and a final concert.  These performances and project make up half of the final grade and are listed below in bold in the course outline.
